Subject: Further confirmation- something must be done, soon
Dear Sister Barbara and Sister Helen,
I presume by now you have had an opportunity to speak with Ms. Bain. Today I received further evidence which completely affirms her critical role as an escort at the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic on killing days this past year, as she urges women to enter for an abortion. This morning, I spoke with [name withheld] at Sacramento Planned Parenthood, and as I was about to leave, I mentioned that oddly enough I thought one of the escorts usually there was a teacher at my daughter's high school, without providing any names/details. [name withheld] quickly responded with, "Oh, you mean Marie Bain? I know her. I know for a fact that she just got a job at Loretto High School. She told me that herself!"
Therefore, no doubt, no uncertainty remains. As a parent, I expect immediate dismissal and hope to hear from you very soon as I am sure there are many Catholics, many parents who would be as appalled as I am over this woefully mistaken hiring.
From your 2005-06 Handbook for Students and Parents, on page 15, "Any student who publicizes or advocates an abortion either planned or already obtained will be dismissed from Loretto." And, "Human life at all stages, including the pre-born child is a sacred gift from God, and an abortion is never an alternative at any stage of pregnancy." I would hope you have consistent expectations of your teaching staff, for they (and you as administrators with a difficult task ahead of you) are very influential role models for our young women to follow. They watch, see, and learn from our decisions, checking to see if our actions reflect our faith. Clearly, dismissal, just as prescribed for the student, is the only reasonable course of action, otherwise, our young women are at significant risk to her pro-abortion influence.
This is a scandalous embarrassment to the entire Loretto community and all who conscientiously practice our Catholic Christian faith. I am deeply saddened to see Ms. Marie Bain's name forever imprinted in Loretto's 50th Anniversary program, joining the respected list of all current and past staff members. You see, the longer this goes unaddressed, the worse the situation becomes. Please contact me soon on this matter, at least letting me know that you share my concern, otherwise I am left thinking the situation has been ignored.
This has been a very sad experience for this Loretto family. We sincerely pray for all involved.
